Reflections on the First Eight Weeks of Our Technopreneurship Journey

Image
As we approach the midpoint of our technopreneurship journey, it's time to take a step back and reflect on what we've learned so far. From personality tests to market validation, customer interviews to UI/UX design, the past eight weeks have been filled with valuable insights and experiences. One of the most important lessons we learned early on was the importance of understanding our roles within the team. During Week 1, we took a personality test and used the results to form teams that would be most effective in achieving our goals. This set the foundation for effective teamwork and communication throughout the program. Week 2 introduced us to the value proposition canvas, a tool that allowed us to identify and address our customers' pain points and needs. By developing a product or service that solves a real problem for our target audience, we can create value for both our customers and our company. Week 4 emphasized the importance of effective communication and storytel...

Incorporating User Feedback: Team Z's Week 7 Technopreneurship Journey in Prototyping

Image
As we move into Week 7 of our technopreneurship journey, we are excited to dive into the prototyping phase. We've already created a prototype during our previous capstone project, so we're familiar with the process. However, this week, we're going to be incorporating some new features based on the feedback we received from our interviews over the past few weeks. "Prototyping is an important part of the design process as it allows us to test and iterate on our ideas quickly." - Team Z Prototyping is an essential part of the design process as it allows us to test and iterate on our ideas quickly. With the feedback we received from our interviews, we can now incorporate new features and functionalities that address the specific needs and pain points of our users. Validating Assumptions: The Crucial Phase in our Technopreneurship Journey

Image
As we move further into our technopreneurship journey, our team has reached Week 6, the validation phase. Last week, we focused on interview planning and hypothesis testing, where we gathered data from small-scale farmers and formulated hypotheses to validate our problem. This week, we dive deeper into validating our assumptions. Throughout the past few weeks, we spent our free time interviewing farmers either online or face-to-face. During these interviews, we made sure to listen attentively to our interviewees, trying to understand their struggles and pain points. We empathized with their difficulties in making a living from their farms, and we recognized the need for a solution that would address their problems. Uncovering the Hidden Struggles of Farmers: Why Effective Communication is Key

Image
Effective communication and storytelling are not just about presenting your solution, but also about listening to your audience. Recently, we had the opportunity to reinterview farmers and learn about their challenges in the farming industry.  What we discovered was eye-opening and helped us better understand the problems they face.  Farming is not an easy job, and it's often like gambling. Farmers take risks every day, and one wrong move or unfortunate event can greatly impact their profits. During our interviews, we heard firsthand about the many challenges farmers face, from weather conditions to the cost of supplies. However, one issue stood out to us the most - the lack of fair compensation for their hard work. It's heartbreaking to see farmers work tirelessly for months, only to receive less than what they deserve for their products. Unfortunately, this is a common problem in the industry, with middlemen and supply chain inefficiencies resulting in lower prices for farme...
